Is it OK to submit to 2000 directories in one go?

Submitting to 1000 or 2000 directories in one go is OK. You can't control the rate at which your submissions get accepted by a directory editor and it may take weeks or months for your website to be accepted into a directory and for your link to go live. Even then it may takes days or weeks for Google to index the page with your link on. All this means that your links will get found by the search engines at random over an extended period - so the fact you only spent an hour or so making 2000 submissions will have no effect on the rate at which the search engines find your links.
