Note: The description below only applies to SliQ Submitter Lite. SliQ Submitter Plus includes a directory listing finder tool to help you find your website listings.

Checking if your website is now listed on a directory

When you make a directory submission with SliQ Submitter, your website details are placed in a review list at the directory. A lot of directories will probably email you letting you know your site is queued for review before being accepted into the directory and given a listing.

There are a number of ways you'll be able to find out if you have a listing:

Some directories will email you when your listing has been accepted.

These days fewer and fewer directories seem to send acceptance emails though and you'll probably find you've been listed without receiving an email.

Use Yahoo Site Explorer to examine the links to your site.

Go to Yahoo and in the search box, type in the following:

link:www dot mydomain dot com

For example:

link:www.sliqsubmitter.com

You should then be able to see which directories are linking to your website.

Register with Google Webmaster Tools

By registering with Google Webmaster Tools, you can get a detailed report about your website including the backlinks to your site.

Note: Neither Yahoo Site Explorer or Google Webmaster Tools tell you ALL the backlinks your website has. The number of backlinks shown in either case is a subset of the real number of links your site will have. The only surefire way of knowing if your website is listed in a directory is to visit the directory and conduct a search using the directory's own search facilities.
